tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on the 27th of February, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in Southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both basketball and football teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receiving nine receptions and tied it. The following year, Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez was then selected for the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was part of the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
